Pikmin 4 Dandori Battles & Challenges

Updated · 1 min read

Dandori is the skill fantasy at the heart of Pikmin 4’s timed modes: plan first, execute efficiently, beat the clock.

Challenges and Battles (Switch)

Nintendo’s product page groups these under “Dandori Challenges” and multiplayer:

  • Use time wisely to collect the most items before the timer ends.
  • Dandori Battle — Compete or cooperate with a second player on the same system.
  • Story Co-Op Mode is separate: Player 2 uses an on-screen pointer to throw pebbles and helpful items (Fresh Recruits / store).

Why the word matters

In Ask the Developer Vol. 10, staff describe how earlier Pikmin titles leaned toward time management vs collection breadth, and how Pikmin 4 aims to welcome both “Pikmin 1 people” and “Pikmin 2 people.” Dandori is the shared language for that efficiency satisfaction.

Switch 2: Dandori Academy

The November 12, 2026 Switch 2 Edition adds Dandori Academy — Nintendo says 72 stages release over time across difficulty levels, with medals to earn. Friends can join Dandori Battles via GameShare locally or GameChat online even without owning the game (session limits apply; see Nintendo’s footnotes).
